Cookie Policy
Last updated 11 October 2026.
Brier uses only strictly-necessary cookies and local storage. It sets no analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies, so there is no consent banner - one is not required for strictly-necessary storage under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations or the GDPR.
Session cookie
- Set by Supabase Auth when you sign in, and refreshed automatically on each request.
- Keeps you signed in. Without it you would be signed out on every page load.
- Not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
Return-page cookie
- Named
brier_next. Set only when you start signing in (with Google, a magic link, or a sign-up confirmation email) after being sent to the sign-in page from another page of Brier. - Holds the address of that page inside Brier, so you land back on it after signing in. Nothing about you. It expires after 10 minutes and is removed as soon as it is used.
- Not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
Preview cookie
- Named
brier_preview. Set only if you open a preview link during the pre-launch period, and only to let your browser through the coming-soon gate. - Contains a shared access code, nothing about you. Removed once the site launches publicly.
On-device storage
Brier is installable as a progressive web app. When installed, a service worker caches static files (styles, icons, the app shell) in your browser so it loads faster and works briefly offline. This stays on your device, is never sent anywhere, and is cleared if you uninstall the app or clear site data.
What we don't use
No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and Brier itself sets no third-party cookies. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel. If you choose Sign in with Google, you visit Google's own sign-in page, and any cookies it sets belong to Google and are covered by Google's cookie policy.
